Becoming a Parent through Surrogacy
Surrogacy is a meaningful and beautiful family-building experience. While surrogacy can be a long, complex and emotional path to parenthood, the moment you hold your baby for the first time is so overwhelming and incredible, it’s hard to put into words.

Some of the most common medical indications for surrogacy
-
Uterine abnormalities:
-
Certain congenital or acquired uterine abnormalities, such as Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser (MRKH) syndrome or Asherman's syndrome, can make it impossible for a woman to carry a pregnancy.
-
-
Hysterectomy:
-
Women who have had a hysterectomy, the surgical removal of the uterus, are unable to carry a pregnancy.
-
-
Recurrent miscarriages:
-
Some women experience recurrent miscarriages due to genetic, hormonal, or immunological factors that prevent them from maintaining a healthy pregnancy.
-
-
Failed IVF attempts:
-
Couples who have undergone multiple unsuccessful in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycles may consider surrogacy as an alternative path to parenthood.
-
-
Medical conditions:
-
Certain medical conditions can make pregnancy risky for the mother or the baby, such as severe heart disease, uncontrolled diabetes, or chronic kidney disease.
-
-
Genetic disorders:
-
Couples with a high risk of passing on genetic disorders to their offspring may choose surrogacy using a donated egg or sperm to minimize the risk of transmitting the condition to their child.
-
-
Age-related infertility:
-
Advanced maternal age can lead to decreased fertility and increased risks during pregnancy. Women who are unable to conceive or carry a pregnancy due to age-related factors may consider surrogacy as an option.

From your first meeting with Nova Parent, we will ask you how you imagine your surrogacy journey. When you are introduced to our Matching Specialists, they will continue to get to know you and ask you to complete a parent profile. Answering these questions helps our team find you the best surrogate match for your journey.
Using an Egg Donor to Build Your Family
Egg Donation is the process of using donor eggs to grow your family. Intended parents may require only an egg donor, or will need both an egg donor and a gestational surrogate. All family-building journeys are unique, and using an egg donor is a very special experience.
Egg donation is the process of a fertile woman donating her eggs to a family to create embryos. The embryo(s) are then transferred into the intended mother’s uterus – or the uterus of a gestational surrogate – to carry the baby to term.

Should I choose a donor first or match with a surrogate first?
If you require both an egg donor and a gestational surrogate, we recommend signing on with your surrogacy agency to secure a spot on the surrogate match list.

Surrogate Screening
One of the first questions intended parents should ask a surrogacy agency is how their surrogates are screened, and if the screening is done prior to being matched. The screening process helps agencies understand women's motivations to become surrogates, what their support systems will be, as well as physical and emotional histories
Best Surrogates
Our surrogate screening process means that we’ll only present you with a potential surrogate match when we've determined she is not only a good candidate for surrogacy, but a surrogate candidate who meets the highest standards.
